All one-to-one therapy sessions are currently undertaken by Jenny Weston (S.H., P.E.P.T., BA(Hons), MSc.) See section headed "Who we are" for a biography.

The time to book a one-to-one therapy session is when you 'know in your heart' you are ready to change and are willing to do the work necessary to change. This is a life altering step and not one to be taken lightly. Changing on the inside usually means changes on the outside. Hence positive personal growth changes on the inside will mean positive changes to your external environment. This can mean upheavals to your personal life as you may begin to not tolerate some of the things you tolerated before as you establish more healthy patterns for yourself.

Working intensely on yourself will most probably mean facing difficult emotions and perhaps remembering parts of your life that are extremely painful to remember. Personal growth is not always easy but working in therapy often means having therapist support to face things that are too difficult or painful to face alone. It is natural to be nervous of 'digging up the past' when your past contain violence and or abuse. You do not have to re-live the past in order to let it go and create a more loving future for yourself and your children.

The aims of personal growth can be different for everyone, but a common aim is to be less shackled by intense emotion from the past such as fear, anger, shame, hate, feeling unloved or unlovable. Or feeling unable to fully embrace the future due to past feeling of unworthiness or deep lack of trust. Or perhaps if you were abused as a very young child you experience a lot of confusion and often feel upset in ways that are hard to fathom and this hinders you enjoying all that you know you could do and want to.

Whatever your reasons for working on yourself the rewards can be immense and , to coin a phrase "you're worth it".

One-to-one sessions are ideally booked in continual two or three hour blocks so you are supported for a period of time.

It is useful having an online therapist if:

  • You are in the pubic-eye and do not want to be recognised
  • You cannot find a therapist in your local area
  • You prefer to have therapy in the comfort and safety of your own home
  • You prefer to have therapy with a specialist therapist who has a deep understanding of the issues associated with sexual abuse and domestic violence

If you live outside of the UK and would like a more extensive consultation, we can do that via telephone or computer phone. If you have a camera in your computer we will also be able to see each other, which I find very helpful. For a computer call use Skype - download it free at www.Skype.com - and the call will be free in the UK and very inexpensive from overseas.

Telephone session available on Skype (for international calls) or
