Letting go of mind
This is a good exercise if you are feeling anxious, stressed or have thoughts that don't resolve themselves but go round in circles. It will help you empty your mind for a while.
Kneel down, bending forward until your forehead touches the ground. Place your arms beside your head and let go, completely emptying your mind of all thoughts, worries and problems. Then stand up and stretch up bringing your arms up and stretching the whole body. At this point breathe in deeply and affirm your intention.
For example say to yourself:
"I am freeing my mind",
"I release my circular thoughts"
"I am calm and feel at peace".
Do this up to 10 times in a row so your body gets the benefit of the stretch as well as the meditation and affirmations. Make a promise to yourself to not to think of that certain thought for a definite period of time such as a hour or for the rest of the day. This will help you to break the habit of over thinking.
