Receiving love and nourishment from others
Notice when someone compliments you how much you actually receive and acknowledge that compliment. Do you believe the person? Does it make a difference if the person is male or female? Does it depend on the nature of the compliment, for example you are pleased when someone compliments you on your skills, but feel uncomfortable when you are complemented on your appearance? Do you usually think a compliment holds a hidden agenda that you have to respond to? If so notice which kind of compliments you feel uncomfortable with and ask yourself why. A compliment can take many forms, a smile, a greeting or well wishes. It could be a phone call to check how you are if you are ill or an invitation to an event. It could simply be, "Nice to meet you."
Practise taking in compliments, by believing the person is sincere and repeating the compliment back to yourself. Really acknowledge that person wants the best for you.
